Show 3643 Mrs. Wetherill- D 1665 on horseback? A On horseback and in teams. Q Just driving across? A Just driving across, yes, up at Goodrich; I have only crossed the river there on the bridge and on the cable -- in a bucket on the cable. BY MR. BLACKMAR: Q Did you ever cross the river on foot? A I didn't cross the river on foot, but I drove a team across when there wasn't a drop of water in it; my children went on foot. I have waded the river at the mouth of Comb wash. Q Where was this point where you said the children crossed and it was dry? A That was about six miles above Farmington. Q Are there any streams which flow all the year around below Farmington? A There is the Animus, that comes in below Farmington, but that time I crossed the Animus -- no, I didn't cross the Animus that time; but that time the Animus was dry, I saw it, it was dry, too. I crossed the La Plata, and it was dry all the way up. Q Were you at Bluff that year, Bluff, Utah, that year? A Not that year. |
