A No, I don't think we did; I think there were always places where they could get out; that is my recollection; you would find these hand- holds; remnants of the hand- holds and foot- holds. Q In some places you have found such things? A Well, almost invariably where you find the ruins. Q You say there are some places where it had been washed away? A Not entirely washed away; you couldn't use them, but you would see the evidences of these hand- holds; sometimes you could use them, and sometimes you couldn't. Of course, we weren't looking at that time for ruins; we noted them as we saw them. others that have gone through there have much more testimony on that then I have. MR.
