Show Clark- RD 985 Q You are referring to sheet 19 of Exhibit 10, between mile 54 and 55? A Yes, between No. 1 well and Moab. I don't know anything about those maps. Q Where did it go from there? A It was surveyed into this Pipe Line canyon, which is a box canyon that runs up to what we call the knolls; that is the highest part on the desert between Greenriver and this country, that is the high point; the road would have to go up this canyon until it got up near the head of the canyon before it got out on top; then it is a gradual slope down to the railroad, to a point near Crescent. Q Where is Crescent with reference to Thompson? A Crescent is six miles west. Q Do you know the purpose in surveying that road? A Well, it was a location survey, to see -- it was a pipe line survey, with sort of a road scouting trip at the some time. There was no real road survey that I ever heard of. THE SPECIAL MASTER: This road you are talking of is on the west side of the river, isn't it? MR. BLACKMAR: Yes, sir. THE SPECIAL MASTER: I was talking about whether there was any road on the east side of the river in between; I was asking him whether there was any road between the regular road, Thompson and Moab and Monticello, whether any road between that road and the river. 2955 |
