Show Kolb- D 870 BY MR. BLACKMAR: Q As a matter of explaining these photographs, this big rock that appears in this picture ( indicating), about what is the size of that rock extending out of the water? A It was about the length of the boat; that is the way we judged things; we would measure it by something that was close to it. Here you hardly see any of it, but if you could get around to the side you would see it looked just like that. Q Exhibit 113. A That was in the section between rapid No. 13 and No. 23, very violent rapid; the wave completely covers the boat and the oarsman. Q This was taken in 1921? A Yes sir. BY MR. FARNSWORTH: Q Between 13 and 23? A Yes sir, in that vicinity. BY MR. BLACKMAR: Q No. 114 A That is where we climbed out, a short distance above the junction of the Green and the Grand river. It shows the Green river at the point we climbed out; the height of the walls is thirteen hundred feet high. This ( indicating) is my brother, who appears in the 2840 |
