Show Blake- 953 FURTHER EXAMINATION BY THE SPECIAL MASTER: One question, Mr. Blake. Yes sir. When you went down with Mr. Hoyt did you have any maps? I never used them, your Honor. You didn't use them? No sir. Did you have any on board? I imagine so; always the government party has carried maps. Did you see any? I think I did. Do you know what they were? No sir. These sandbars that have been testified to by various witnesses I suppose are of different character and kind, that is, some I suppose are permanent and some shifting, isn't that so? I believe the crossing bars are permanent in one aspect, but I think when the water lowers they are cut, and possibly at extreme low water there may be several channels through. I am not now speaking about channels. Certain types of bar would be more or less permanent from year to year? Yes sir. And in the rapids I suppose there is no sand to amount to 2923 |
