Show Blake- D 911 A Yes sir. Q Preliminary to the trip which was made around and up to Moab? A Yes sir. Q And the boat used was a flat bottom boat with a motor on it? A It was what I would call a semi- flat- bottom boat. THE SPECIAL MASTER: Let's get these different trips straight. The last trip he talked about was a small trip from Greenriver up the river. We have got about through with that, haven't we? MR. BLACKMAR: Yes, that is part of the Hoyt trip. THE SPECIAL MASTER: This is in 1928? MR. BLACKMAR: In 1928. THE SPECIAL MASTER: Now you are going on with that same trip? MR. BLACKMAR: With that same trip. Q Which boat was it that you used up there? A It was a boat shipped down from Salt Lake City which had been used, if my information is correct, by Mr. Woolley on a former trip; and it was not flat clear across; it was rounded at the edges of the sides, somewhat like a canoe, but the center of the bottom was flat. Q What was the draft of that boat with the motor on? A When unloaded I don't think it would draw three inches of water; it was a very light draft, unloaded. Q Then you and Mr. Hoyt put back to Greenriver? A Yes sir. 2881 |
