Show Kolb- D 847 BY THE SPECIAL MASTER: Q Did I understand you to say Wimmer brought the supplies up the river in a boat in which he put a motor? A No sir, an empty boat; he was just out for a little ride for the fun of it. Q He brought the supplies up the road? A He brought supplies from Greenriver, I think, or from one of those towns up north, by road. MR. FRANSWORTH: We move to strike out that statement, where he got the supplies. THE SPECIAL MASTER: Yes. All I want to make sure is the supplies did not come on a boat; they came on shore. A They came in wagons; they were on the shore; they were not in a boat. BY THE SPECIAL MASTER: Q Where did this boat come from, Wimmer's boat? A Wimmer is a river man; he has always got boats scattered at different places; he is always experimenting. Q You don't know where this particular boat came from? A No, I don't. Q He was simply there at Hall's Crossing? A Yes sir, and he owned the boat. BY MR. FARNSWORTH: Q Understood you to say his party took some supplies up the river from that place? A No supplies were taken up; we unloaded Chenoewith's surplus 2817 |
