Show Blake- C 948 I don't know; there were several men, including Mr. Loper, on the up stream trip, that had gone down to come back with that boat. How much of a load of supplies was brought in on that boat? I don't recall; I had no interest, specially, in the amount at that time, and do not recall. Well, it wasn't a common incident for a cargo of supplies to be coming up, was it? No, it wasn't. You learned something about the amount of supplies that came in on that occasion, didn't you? We had just gotten supplies at the San Juan that Mr. Wimmer left; I don't believe we needed a great many, and I am not certain as to the quantity. Did Mr. Wimmer bring those supplies in a boat? Yes. What kind of boat did Mr. Wimmer bring those supplies in that you secured at the mouth of the San Juan? I don't know; he left the cache there, and we never saw him come or depart. You know that Mr. Wimmer was operating boats during that period from Lee's Ferry up to the San Juan and supplying the government men in there with supplies from that source and in that manner, don't you? I know that he was operating a boat on the river, yes sir. 2918 |
