Show Kolb- D 845 A I have made a note here: " We stopped at Hanson creek. Mr. Chenoewith has cache here. Back country survey; began surveying back from the canyon. We sort out stuff as we part company tomorrow. All men working, and boats are in good condition." One of the boats, called the Los Angeles, was left with Mr. Chenoewith. BY MR. BLACKMAR: Q That is one of the big boats? A Yes, sir. ( Reads:) " Tuesday, October 4th. I took the Static; LaRue in the Edison;"-- that is the name of another boat, and one boat was called Static, the small boat. " Met at Hall' Crossing by Tom Wimmer, at 11: 15" -- no -- " above Hall's Crossing"--" in the motor boat." " Wimmer freighted some supplies in for the engineers at Hall's Crossing, and he had a motor which he had put in the boat, and he came up the river and met us a short distance above Hall's Crossing, and he took LaRue on board because they had worked together, and they went up the river to look at a certain rapid that they had talked about before;" I don't remember what rapid it was; 2815 |
