Show 7i*f contradictions, z1 the gap. betweenAreligious training and s c i e n t i f ic teachings. My f a t h e r said the Garden of Eden story was l i t e r a l - God had created the world in seven days. Saul had accepted Darwin's theory of evolution and the clear evidence that the earth is b i l l i o n s of years old. In weighing the two points of view, I suspected that ' r i g h t ' was somewhere beyond the two smaller spheres of knowledge, somehow encompassing them both and including much more. Wasn't there a way for the Bible - with i t s weight of centuries - and new ideas of man's history to combine? I had asked myself. Couldn't the world evolve as mine had done, moving through l i g h t to dream, from dream to myth, from myth to emotion, and from there to temporal reality? Couldn't the world have been created in seven days and s t i ll be billions of years old? I needed to reconcile the question of time, for it weighed on me l i k e a boulder of unmined ore. Time was precious, but not for caching. Somehow- i t must be used, drawn to i t s full value. I theorized that time and space are related and that if mass converts to energy, being light, and if time i s r e l a t i v e to l i g h t , while God i s l i g h t , that God's presence controls l i g h t and time. Therefore, when the process is reversed with energy becoming matter, time would lengthen as l i g h t moves across mass, effecting great radiant changes which are the work of light m one A A -..Hsnr Of God'S WOUld eternal days my~-fath^r-^ad--a±ways-sa-id a day °J. thrnuffh one complete he_-a_±h-ousand years- to-us humans - througn cj+in the earth would reckon the revolution of the universe.
