July 24: 1923: At 10 a.m. the people of the ward met and had a nice program of reniniscences of pioneer days, after which a 11 ate their nicnic. l\.fternoon they had all kinds of S"9orts which vras enjoyed by all. July 25: to July 30. Visited 'Hith our children. On the 27 Ruth F. Bushman i<;<1Ve birth to her son, all doing well. Old Bro. Hans Nie lson 90 ye3.rs old is very feeble and has to be attended ':l. 11 the t ime • July 29:, Sunday: At 9 a .m. attended priesthood rrieet ing and S. Schoo 1. F.cad dinner with R.C.'lc;.nner ancl in the evening suoed v;ith R.A.VFinkinson who asked 1Il3.ny quest ions. July 31: Vfent to Yiinslow with son ·virgil and called upon Dr. Brovrr.. who gave me some oills for kidney trouble. Afterroon with son had 2 hours ta lk with 2 hdies who are interested in the Gospel. Very heavy rain. Ex Bp. Shumway from Mesa stopped with us all night . Raining. August 1, 1923: Came to Snowflake vrith son ,Uonz.o at 11 o .m. attended the Jesse N. Smith family reunion. There was his 3 wives and a good attendance of the large family. F...ad good singing and speeches by the mothers and many nice things were said about his large family ·who nu.rnber over 480, g.ll ·were r~?-?PY• At 1 p.m. had lunch by families and had plenty of ice cream for all. At 3 p.m. all met and had a social time. At 7 p.m. met q_nd g9.ve a drs.l':'.a. of the life of Jesse :N. Smith. Aug o 3 : 1923: The Seventies had their annual reunion and gave r:iany reminis cences of miss ion.n.ry exoerienoes and had a banquet. All went off fine . In the evening attended a theatre ''The Wrong 1'1r. Wright" which was very good. Aug;. 4: 1923: At 10 a.m. attended the i'Iutual convention. Apostle Lyman and Supt. H.H.Currunings and Young Lady Missionaries were present and gave splendid talks. Also at 2 p.m. attended convention in the academy andreceived much good counsels. Dined with Ellis Stratton. Aug . 5: 1923: At 10 am attended meeting, also at 2 and 7 p.m. Apostle Lyrr~n gave splendid s talks on the making of our children ;;;ood Saints and citizens. Also at 6 :30 had a splendid meeting after which assisted in administer3 of the sick. Stayed with Sister l'.iarion Rogers every night in their to ing beautiful home. |
