Show -18John Bushman diary 1919 December 1920 rla.rch Dec. 2, 1919: After b rea kfast he visited his old friend John A.. Woolf who has gon e blind the last 2 y ears. He was plea sed t o have h im call. He told how the Hatch f amily were cross e d with the I ndian blood. Conversed on the topics o f t he day and prophecy. After an hou r o f pleasa nt visit, he visited Hy :tum K4 rr en & wife and J:1ad a very agreeable time and had dinner with them. Afternoon they came to Smithfield and stopped all n i ght with S.P.Ewing who told of the death o f his brother Lester in Toomstone, Arizona. Dec. 3: Visited Sister Ewing & family. She has no family record, just keeps the temple sheets. Stay a 11 night with Sam. P. Ewing. Dec. 4: At 1 p,m. attended the f uneral of sister Morehead. George Barber read some that Lois Hayba ll suggested. Sang I Know that my Redeemer Lives. Prayer G.L. Farrel, song, solo. Barb er read nore scripture and spoke of the good of the Morehead family, then a solo, then Sam Nelson spoke after which John Bushman spoke of his long acquaintance w ith the family. After which they followed the remains to the cemetery when the grave was dedicated by Joseph Thomas. After "Nhich they all returned to Collets Hotel and had a dinner and a very sociable time with all the relatives from great distance. Stay all night with s.P.Ewin g . March 16, 1920: Went to Smithfield to att e nd R.F. Ewings funera 1 who died on the 14th. Found others all well. St ayed with her . oldest son Samuel P. Ewing and met many of the other relatives. Y.arch 17: 1920: Attended the funeral. The choir sang, Sister Thou was Lovely. Bp. Plumb. The speakers were Wm. Wine, James Kirk, McBride & John Bushman. Sang Oh my Father. Several autos went to the cemetery. Snowing all day. Visited with S.P.Ewings. In the evening came with niece Lois Hayba 11 to Logan and ha.d a good visit with Hayball. |
