All seemed pleased. In the evening vre a 11 were invited to Pres. A.J .Evans to give Worlton a fare well party. Had a nice time. Maria v,as here. J9.n. 5: Vforking at genealogy. Jan. 6: Sunday. At 9 a.m. attended pnyer circle. Fasted. funer'll services for George Austin Sr. 82 years old. 12 p.m. attended The soeakers were Bp. Gardner, Elisha Dav is, George Austin&: Pres. A. J. Ev9.ns. All testified to his f3. ithfulness & worth. 2 p.m. attended testimony·m eeting. All 4 v,ards met in the tabernacle, 8 babies were blessed and wany good testimonies born. A women prs.yed in tongues & J. Kirkham gave the interpretat ion which was to the soldier boys. Jan. 7: Writing our early history. D. Losee &: wife visited us. 7 :30 attended priesthood meeting. Snowing a 11 day. Jan. 8: Wrote a letter of condolence to E.M.Webb on the death of their oldest son E. Milo Webb. Writing some of our early history. Jan. 9: We came to the temp le, our ne ohew Eugene 1/'f. Bushman came with us and took a name through the temple for us. I went through for Thomas Knox Fortescue. We are staying with Sister Clayton at R.F. home. Jan. 10: Went through the temple for John Fortescue Jr,. Came home in the evening. Our ,vater pipes are frozen up. We applied hot water & got most all to running.· Snowing most a 11 day, &: Saturday. Jan. 12: Sunday. Went to Union meeting to A.merican Fork &: opened the meeting with prayer. Pres. Chipman gave a good talk on our duties &: the Word of 1'1isdom. Pres. A..J .Evans asked me how long we expacted to stay in Lehi. He said they had a place in the presidency of the High Priest for me if I stayed here long. I told him I was near 75 years old, but I was willing to do any thing I could to help along. Bro. Albert & wife came i~ the evening, we read our patriarchal blessings. Monday evening went a teaching &: went to the priesthood Jan. 15: Writing letters. In the evening Sister Cordelia Morehead came to stay with us a. while. The second ward held their annual reunion in the Smuin Dancing Hall. We all went until 10 :30. There was a large company. We r.aceived a letter f rom wife's cousin J.H. Smith in Campbell, Texas, he is a minister. He also sent a little bo oklet c13.lled, Exposing Mormonism, he don't believe in revelatio:i.
