June 4: Granddaughter Sadie Smith ,.vent with me to Salt Lake to meet her brother Wickliffe Smith & 3 lanche Rogers. T:b..ey failed to come on the Los Angeles R.R. at 12:45, but came on the D & R.G. They fo~nd us in the evening after they got their licence. Da9hne Jalton helped them to find us. June 5: I went through the temple with them & they were married at 3 p.m. by Bp. Joseph Christianson. Wife &: Jessie G. Bushrm.n, Fred's wife c9.me & went through in the afternoon. Sten at R.S. Home. June 6: Went through the temp le and in the evening I took Vfickliffe & wife &: Lula Palmer on sight seeing car around to-:rn & into Liberty ?ark. We saw a baby elephant one month old &: mother was very large. June 7: Went through the temple &: cs.me home. In the evening 'W ickliffe & wife came. We had Bros. Martin and Albert & wives & Marth Lewises wife & daughter Ruth come in &: had a sociable time. r,Iartin gave a story of my life & many nice things were said. I am 75 today. June 8: I borrowed $ 25 from Wickliffe Smith. (Paid Wickliffe in July) June 9: Sunday. 9 a.m. attendAd 0 rayer Circle. 12 :20 p.m. wife & I went to Provo & stop at Marias. Sha ·assisted to compare temple records. Florence & temo la work. E. Lewis came from Boise, Idaho to see us about family reunion 8 :45 p.m. she & Maria came to Lahi with us. M.I.Bushman in Provo. Had a good visit. Visited June 10: Maria and Florence Lewis assisted ma to compile the temple record we have got from endowment house and from St. George temple of the work lf!8.ria F. Smith & son Wickliffe had done in 1870 &: 1879, and ascertain how much had been done for the Smiths. But little h,:1.d been done for them. Tuesd~ &: Wednesday. Worked in the garden Monday and June 13: Florence E. Lewis stqrt home, stop at Sandy. I went to the temple. Wick & wife went throug.'1 the Hate 1 Utah with me and we went around tovm. I came home. June 14: I wrote letters & helped U<trtin in the beets. Pained a little, also Ss.turday th ~ same. |
