Aug . 4: Ctl.me to Logan at 11:35 to Lois Hayballs and found all well & glad to see ne . In the evening J came to Smithfield 'J.nd visited Sam and Ial.".a r},"ing & sons . She h::ts been 'ment·,. lly afflicted for some tim~ but is around and seems better at times. Was ghd to see me , also all th e boys. Stayed a 11 night vrith Yrick & family of 4 girls, all W'lS glad to see me , ha cl a nice visit. Aug. 5: Came back to Logan and c 3_ 1 led on old friends, v;m . Hyde & sister Jane I}den and John v:oolf, all pleasec:. to see r..e. Had dinner with nieces Lois & Effie Horehead, then visited Hyrum ~-:a rren & wife ·who has been very sick with he9.rt trouble. Told them of visiting his brother Charles and sick wife in Lethbridge. At 4 p.m. st9.rt for Salt Lake 3.nd got here at 8 p.m. and found all vrell and glad to have me b3.ck again. Aug. 6: Sunday.At 2 p.m. attended fast meeting v,hen several spoke, also Sister Zina Y. Card. After meeting I met her anc: told her I net her daughter, ~Irs. Brown in Lethbridge. She v,as pleased. Aug. 7: '!:rote letters and a t 10 a.m. attended genealogical meeting in the library. Bro. Russel? gave a splendid talk on the spirit world &c • .s.Lune 29: 1923: At 11 :55 p.m. start fros Salt lake City for St. Joseph, Arizona, Had an uneventful trip except it was very warm through Hevada & California. Arrived at St. Joseph at 11:30 p.m. July 1st. All my children & companions and son Homer from Snowflake met me at the station and gave me a hearty welcor:ie. All vrent to the old home at Jesse's and after social chat of l hour retired. I st s.y here. July 2: 1923: Son Romer visited vrith r!le, several of the children l: friends dine with Virgil and h9.d supper with Alonzo. July 3: 1923: Arose early and done some v·riting and visited old friends• /uly 4: 1923: The peop le had a parade of autos, very nice. At 10:30 all met in the mee ting house and 112,d a nice program and lunched at the Park, ice cream &c. July 5: 1923: Visited the Bp. and several of the family. July 6: 1923. Home r and family came from Snowflake and at 10 a.m. the Bushm,,n family of Arizona held their annu9. l reunion. H.F.B. in charge. Had a good progr9.m, songs speaking &c. until 12 noon, then 9. good lunch & ice cream. |
