Show ef 77 -3- John Bushman diary 1905 October Cct. 10: 1905: We came back to our old room and S .D. and Maria are here. Lois h1d her eyes tested by Dr. Stauffer. He said he could not do anything for them more than fit glasses to them, which cost us ~15.00. I bought 1 recent volume of History of the Church $3.00; 1 Book of Yo nnon and Hymn Book, all $5. We got a bath. Emma. R, South land came to see us, seemed very pleased. Oct. 11: We got up at 6 a.m. and at 7:30 we went to the temple. There was a very large company and we were informed that we could wait till tomorrow to get our second.: ; Endowments. We went to the L.D.S.Hosp ital and met cousin Lucy Dalton. R. Hopkins met us, he has a cancer on his lip which is bad. Silas and Maria went through the temple for the dead, Abraham Degen and Anna Barbra Degen. Oct. 12: Wa arose early and went to the temple and vrere informed we could not receive our second annointings today. I went through for B.Y.Perkins , name was Humphrey Perkins & Lois went through for a lady. Silas went through for Fredrick Degen and Maria for Anna Degen. We got out at 3 p.m. Silas and family went to Lehi, we stop all night at same place~ the A1vord House• Oct. 13: We a.rose early and went through the temple and received our second annointing and blessings under the hands of Pres. John R. 'Winder. We got through at 1 p.m. We got our dinner and went to the station to go to Lehi. Came to Lehi at 6 p.m. Came to Brother Martin and stayed all night. Oct. 14: Quite cold, we visited many of our relatives and acquaintanc es and stayed a 11 night wit$ ister Sarah. Cct. 15: Sunday. Attended s. School. 2 p.m. attended meeting in the new Tabernacle. The speakers were John Bushman, Jas. Goats, Andrew Peterson &: E.H.Da. vis. After meeting we visited many more firends and stayed all night with 9ro. Albert. Oct. 16: Quite cold. We c <>. lled on several good Bye and in the evening James Peterson took me thro ,Jgh the Sugar Factory and explained many things. It is a mar.imath affair. They sewed 4 sacks per minute. We stayed all night with i..artins family. Cot. 17: We came to Provo and visited Ellen Jakeman & her mother. I visited the B.Y.U. and met Pras. Brimhall and Ja.mes Hansen & sisters. Also Bro. Frisby & girls. Also M.L.Pratt. After a very enjoyable day and boarded the train at 9 p.m. |
