Show -19John Bushman diary 1917 December Dec. 24, 1917: We visited Eugene Bushman and went to Provo at 4:20 &: visit with Maria &: family, a.11 a.re well. Dec. 25: I visited Sister Westover &: son &: grandson Decker. Maria had Silas &: Florence Bushman, Sadie & S .D. H9,d a nice visit & ta L1<: with Silas and he took my - picture infront of the Memorial Building and we ha.d a splendid sup!Jer at 4 :30, had some singing & came home at 8 :30. Gr9.nddau ghter Sadie &: Florence came home with us. Dec. 26: Settled tithing, paid ninety five dollars, $110.00; $63.00 here and $47.00 in St. Joseph. Afternoon Jyrum Evans, J.W. Holden & I were appointed appraiser s for James A. Bushma.ns estate which is between $5.000 and $6.000. Ed Southwick is administ rator. Dec. 27: Wrote letters and in the evening wife and I visited with Pres. Abel J. Evans & wife. Talked on the great world war&: some good it is doing in learning the young economy & duty. Dec. 28: Granddau ghter Florence B. is not well. Afternoon Bro. Albert took us around tO"Hn· & to .Saratoga., pleasure resort to show our grand daughters around where we live. Also our parents. The girls went to Provo in the evening. Dec. 29: Sunday. Attended parents class, they discussed the support of tre City Father to orohibit the sale & use of tobacco to all under 21 years old. They pledged their support. 2 p.m. attended meeting, the spe9.kers were Ard Worlton who is going on a mission, Eugene Bushman & Young Allred just from Canada. They spoke on war condition s. 'I |
