West , was read by Ida Udall: Dear friends, I am pleased and ha ppy to have the privillge o f{_oenning a few l ines f or this occasion. Although I ca nnot b e t h ere oe r s onally, you have the bes t feelin gs of my heart. My acquaintance with 3rother and Sister Bu shman is, I must say of but short duration. Yet it seems to me that I always have kno,,-m them, and that their history o f the l ast 25 years wa s f amiliar t o me. They s ta rted then as the young man and maiden, modest and reserved, to build for t h emselves a home, - A home tr.at today their dea rest friends are proud of to bless. In it has been the olace o f b irth to r·9.ny noble spirits wh o hs.ve received such love and tender treatment fr om their 9a rents th?,t vwuld cause the an ge ls to weep with joy. Those ha:i;ipy children can see and feel th3.t perfect sympathy and love exists between fathe r and mothe r, which unto al l is a power 1=rnte far good, vThere true lo ve exists, it is far easier to c 1-, ltivate the minds of the young. The more refined the h ome the mo re intensely cultivated the heart and soul of the inmates t h ereof. And all who visit or associate there partake of that ea±~ elevating influence.
