Show -15John Bushman diary 1917 November ':ov. 4, 1917: Sunday. Went to High P. meeting at American Fork. 2 p.m. 1tter.ded fast meeting & S?oke. Bro. Albert & wife had supper with us & stq_yed t i 11 10. ~1 He_lped Bro. Mart in husk corn about 7 hours. l!ov. 6: Worked for Brother f;fartin husking corn. ov. 5: Nov. 7: We came to Salt lake & went through the temple for Capt. Lewry? We stop at the Relief Society Home. }!ov. 8: Went through the temple for William Faithful Fortescue. In the evening we visited sister Cummings & family. Nov. 9: Went through the temple for John Faithful Fortescue. Came home in the evening. Sister Eliza Rogers came with us & stayed 2 days. Nov. 10: I took sister Rogers & Sadie through the sugar factory, it is a wonderfu 1 plant. Nov. 11: Sunday. Attended prayer circle at 9 a.m. By request I gave some. ir,structions about the signs & tokens. 2.::,30 went to Union meeting at American Fork. In the evening wife & I went teaching to Clara Doil? &: Dave Roberts. ~!ov. 12: In the evening attended Priesthood meeting at 7 :30 p.m. Nov. 13: Wrote some letters, went teaching in the evening, vrife went with me to Hyrum Kirkhams and John Bones. Both families seemed pleased with our visit & asked us to come again. Nov. 14: Wife is not we 11, wrote letter to J .H.Smith, a minister, her cousin. Sent him the Articles of our F3-ity. !Tov. 15: last evening Bp. Goodwin appointed me with 17 other High Priests to visit all the families in the ward with the bishopric. I am to go with Bro. Albert. Nov. 16: Got ~artin's team and plowed our lot. 1Horked around home. Nov. 18: Sunday. Silas & Florence Bushman came here from Provo. 'W'e went to S. School. I assisted to administer the sacrament. Bro. Martin & wife ate dinner with us & our grandchildren. 2 p.m. we attended meeting at first ward, a returned missionary reported his mission and James M. Kirkham spoke on his recent visit to Washington D. C. i r. the intere~t of food c onservation. Said those at the head of our nation 'Nere doing all they ::ould to conse:rve food stuffs and he was proud of the work they were doing. Yov. 19: Copied some genealogy. 7 p.m. attended priesthood meeting & in comp>\ny with :2::d. Southwick & Bro. Kandel administered to Joseph Holden who lost his voice. No. 20: Cooied some of our genealogy. |
