Show -5John Bushman diary June 23: 1899: 1899 June-July Got a call to go to attend Priesthood meeting in s.L.C. June 25: Sunday. 10 a.m. attended S. School. 2 p.m. attended meeting, the spe9.kers were John McLaws, H.W . Despain and H.M.Tanner. June 26: I worked on the milk house. June 27: Irri ga ting. June 28: Sister Lois and son Virgil C'.lme with me to Holbrook to see me off to Ut9.h. We came to Holbrook at 11 a.m. and at 1:30 p.m. Pres. J.N.Smith Hatch&: Richards and Bps. J. Hunt, L.M.Savage. H. Hansen, Z.B.Decker, D. Brinkerhoff and I all boarded the cars for S.L.City to attend the Solemn Assembly on July 2, 1899. We came along very nicely to Albuquerque , change · cars and o ontinue the journey. June 29: 4 of the presiding brethren from the St. Joseph Stake on the Gila joined us, we arrived at Colorado Springs at 1:30 p.m. We lay over here 9 hours. 'i'!e take a. vra lk through the city which is very nice clean town with a saloon. Start on at 10:45. June 30: 4:30 a.m. at Le ':l.dville, there is considerabl e snow on the mountains near by, We arrived at Provo at 8 p.m. Bp. Decker and I stay here. I came to nephew M. T. Bushman and stay all night. July 1, 1899: V!e s. rose at 5 a.m. My nephew drove me over to Lehi. On Provo ?enchwe called on }LE . Kart chner, they were well and glad to see me. We 09.me to Lehi at 8 a.m. and took breakfast with Sister Sarah who was much surprised to see me. We came to Brother .hla.rtins and he took me around to see the relativE:s who are all well and surprised to see me. At 4 :30 I came to the city. I came to my niece Grace H. Lundquist who kept me all night. Julv 2: Sunday. 9 a.m. the Priesthood commenced to gather and at 10 a.m. the meeting was called to order by ?res. Snow. The choir sang, prayer by Apostle Lyiran. Choir sang. Pres. Snovr made some opening ren9. rks and explained the object of this ~thering and exphined hovr the first law in rei!,ard to the hw on the law of consecration. Then read the revelation in D. & Covenants, section 104. Exphined how th'1. t Law was not obeyed and how the curse of God came upon our people in Missouri & Illinois. Also read a revelation in section ___ and said the people whould prepare to build uo the Center Stake of Zion which was no more than 10 or 15 years in the future. Read section 119 and showed how this law of and asked how well that law had been observed, fc the curse. Said if the people had oaid 9.ll\their beon 1,000,000? Said we had no claim on the Lord in our homes one year. Ti thing was given in 1839 said this was the cause of tithing there would have th_9.t we would be preserved Presidin f, np .
