S .LI.Porter and I start to Snowflake. We came to Woodruff. Stoped with Bp. Savage. 'i!e came to Snowflake. Stopped all day with Maria. rrent to mill and back~ Attended S. School and spoke. 2 p.m. attended meeting. Bro. S.M. Porter and I spoke. Also Bp. Hunt. Took Christmas (dinner) with Maria and Lois. Came to the flour mill and stayed with Homer and Sariah. Traded 2 pones (ponies) & t 20.oo stock tithing to J. Pegrce for a large grey IP.are. Came to Snm"lfls.ke. Brother Webb wished that I stop till We dnesday evening. I stayed a 11 night. nesd:i.y 28: I made Lois a little cupboard. 7 p.m. attended the teachers convqntion. Brother ?!ebb gave us an exam9 le in the mode of teaching the Religion Class. All went very interestingly. I ca me to Holbrook and stoped all night with S.D.Smith. Came home at 12, fo und all well • ..forking around home. This is the close of 1892. All our family are well. Last November our dc1.ughter Lois E. was rr.arried to John W. Smith. They live now at Sn owflake. Our circumst a nces are some better than last year having raised a r.i.oderate crop. We have donated some for the comp letion of the Sa lt Ik ke Temple. We are thank f ul for a ns.me & standing in the Church of Christ. (Signed) J. No att FJmot was made to ret a in all the mis-soelled words. Some were chan ge d intentionally to make the read inf; of t h is copy easier. The three years, 1890 -91-92 are all in one book 3 x 7 inches. I am novr attem~ting to find other ori ginal John 3 ushman diaries. After he .ha d wr itten his I Journal I he gave his p ocket diaries to his children and gr andc h i ldren. De gen has the one for 1876 and Alonzo has the one described here. I do not know who has the r..any others. These ori ginal diaries sho ~ ld b e oreserved if oossible. They nre equally va l uab le with the Bushrn<l. n Journal. |
