Show -2John Bushman diary 1905 M!3. rch-Octobe r !,!arch 25: 1905: I came to Snowflake and stayed with Lois Smith & had a good visit with ?res. J.N.Smith. March 26: Sunday. Pres. S.D.Rogers and daughter Lois c<1me to Taylor Wa rd ind attended S. School and meeting and spoke in each meeting. We had dinner with Bro. Palmer. After meeting Bro. Rogers and I administered to Sister Dsckar for cancer in her breast. Oct. 1, 1905: We got letter from Sister R.F. Ewing to say her and Cordelia Moraha<id would like to meet us in S.L.City Oct. 6, 1905 as our children say they would take care of the crop gs..thering &IJ. we concluded to go. I attended S. School and meeting and ma.de out Quarterly Tithing report ready to start monday. Maria & family came. Oct. 2: Our daughter Maria and 6 children came with us to Holbrook. Got our ticket $44.40 each and start on train at 11 :30. I borrowed tithing check $82 .19. · Oot. 3: At 8 a.m. we arrived at Albuquerque, and came on to LaJuanta at 11 p.m. Pres. Smith is with us. Oct. 4: Left Le.Juanta at 3 :45 a.m. got to Colorado Springs 8 a.m. and stop here 4 hours. We came past Pikes Peak, elevation 9,300 feet. Pikes Peak is 14,347 feet high. Pres. Smith, Ma ria and her two daughters and (I) took a walk a.round the town. The Antler Hotel is especially grand. We ea.me to Grand Junction at 12 midnight. (We met S.D.Smith at Provo.) Oct. 5, 1905: Changed cars at Grand Junction and cars were vary crowded. Arrived at Provo at 9 a .m. Stay here 3 hours and came to Lehi on locan train. Stop with Brother Albert who was very much surprised. I met Martin and Sarah and surprised them. Oct. 6: We all came to S.L.City, rented 2 rooms $1.50 per day at Alvord housa 9.nd attended meeting, was late. Heard Apostle Smoot and 2 stake presidents speak. 2 p.m. attended meeting, the speakers were George A. Smith and H.M. Smith. In the evening we met R.F .fa'l'ing and son Lester, also Sammy Empey and Husband and Joseph Barnes, all pleased to meet them. Went to concert in tabernacle. Oct. 7: 10 a.m. attended meeting, speakers were Apostle Smith &: 2 stake oresidents a:ad Pres. Fjelsted. 2 p.m. Apostle Penrose and B.H.Robarts. 4:30 attended Religion Class at Barrett Hall. hood meeting in the Ta be mac la. Oct. 8: 7:30 attended Priest- Sunday. 10 a.m. attended conference, the speakers were - 2 p.m. attended conference. Joseph McMurrin and some stake presidents spoke. 7 :30 p.m. attended S. School reunion. J.M. Tanner gave a good discourse on the importance of sustaining our superiors down to the family. Oct. 9: Attended Priesthood meeting where much g ood cou.>isel instruction was given. VTere in session 3½ hours• We took dinner with nieo-e Grace Lunquist. In the evening we went to Jo:sie Evers, stayed all night. She has 5 nice little who she provides for. She has not heard from John Evers for a year. |
