Show -2John Bushman diary 1918 January-February Jan 20: 1918. Sunday. 9 a.m. atte nded prayer circla, George Kirkham was administered to for his hearing. I was asked to seal the blessing. 10:30 attended Pare nts c]ass. 2 p.m. attended sacrament meeting and 7:30 attended Red Cross meeting. Jan. 21: 7:3 0 P.M. attended ?riesthood meeting and John Roberts & I were asked to admin ister to Sister Stookey who has been sick over a month. I sealed the annointing. Dentist Stookey is making the lower teeth for me. He drew 2 and took the impression. The weather is fine in the days ,•re did not go to the tem?le this week on account of cold and Sister Cordelia being here. Done considerable reading & v-rriting. Jan 27: Sunday. Had Stake Confere nce here Saturday and today. There was a good turnout both davs. '-Ne had 4wrenoe Monson & Margaret Thorn take dinner with us. Also Silasv L. Fish visited us and seemed to rnjoy our home. Jan. 28: week. 7 :30 went to priesthood meeting. Did not go to the temple this Feb. 3: 1918: Sunday. 9 a.m. attended prayer circle. 10:40 attended High Priest Quorum at American Fork. 2 p.m. went to Sacrament meeting. Our old friend David Cazier came to visit the Bushman boys. He loves to t a lk, told of our early experience,he E a great expounder of scriptures. 7 :30 went to !;lutual. Cazier st 1yed a 11 night with Bro. :Martin. Feb. 4: We Eros. Eartin, Albert & Rhodeses told F. Butt we would furnish the means to buy him a iron safe to keep his genealogical records in. He has been gathering this ~~terial for over 20 years for his people, the Bushman & De gen families, the Goodwins and the Rhodes families. 7J30 attended priesthood meeting. Feb. 5: Wrote letters &: in the evening we attended Brother Martins 77 birthday supper. Pres. A.J .Evans &: wife were there. He asked me to ask the blessing on the food. After suoper r e remained there until 11 ,:30. Bro. Martin gave quite an account of his early life, the hard times. Pres. EV'!l.ns spoke, said Bro. was a· honest man & could be trusted, said his faCTily always had Bro. & family wnen~:they-:.had a gathering, all the older ones spoke, & several sang son ge & readings and passed fruit. I was asked me to giv e the benediction. All seemed to enjoy the party. Feb. 6: James Kirkham & I went to the hospit a l & administered to Sue 111, Bushma.n who is to be operated on for appendicitis. Ta lked to Bp. Goodwin & F. 3utt a bout a safe . Goodwin thought he could get one much cheaper than Butt had found. Wife and I ea.me to Sa lt lake Ii: we nt through the temple. I went for John Wood.
