Show John Busruna.n diary 1904 ~,ugust-September-October ugust 28, 1904: Sunday. Attended S. Sch ool. 2 p.m. attended meeting. In the evening I blessed Lawrence F.,arvey Wimmer son o:: Harvey Wir;,.mer. Pl0Wir:.g all the week. Aug;. 4: (Probably intended to b e Sept. 4) Attended s. School. 2 p.m. attended :-.eating.Fast .meeting. Mrs. Boyer of Holbrook requested us to pray for her which was done. Aug, 16: (Probably Sept. 16.) People gather here for our Stake Conference. Eeld High Council (meeting) at 2 p,m. Pril!l.'l.ry conference on 17th, Saturday. Sept. 18: Sunday. Held Quarterly Conference and we had an enjoyable time. Oct, 9: We held our Ward Conference and had a profitable time. Sept, 4: Our cousin Maud Leftwick came here from Richmond Indiana. She stayed until Oat. 19, 1904, when we, wife and I, accompany her to Kansas, Mo. We stay here all night. We arrived at Kansas City, Mo. at l a.m. Saturday. After having good rest until 6 a.m. when I went to 1405, headquarters of Central States Mission where I mat Nellie Thomas and met the Elders in olass exercises. After a nice visit start for st. Louis fair at 10:30 a.m. Let Elder Stratford have $2 and N. Thomas $1. We came to St. Louis at 7 p.m. and stop with w. A. Heitziburg. October 23, 1904: A:f'ter a good nights rest a:nd breakfast I found Eenry Leftsick & wife and Perry Leftwick at 5965 North Market St. I had dinner with them and a nice sociable visit after which I went to the Union Station and got our valise. Oct. 24: Wife and I came to the fair at 8 a .m. 1ffe took a trip around the grounds in the electric car, then went into the Manufactor Building and stayed most a 11 day looking at the different articles on exhibition of different countries. Japa.n has a fine dis9lay of many quaint things. I visited the Utah and Arizona state buildings. We listened to the Mexican band play several nice ;. pieces. In the evening we came to Henry Leftwicks, took suJper with them and had a nice visit. They seem very sociable an:: ask us to come again. Perry promises to come out west to see our country. Octobsr 25: Wife and I ·went to ths fair again and visited the agricultural and horticultural buildings, where each state has their displays separate. California leading in all fruits display out up in the most artistic ~ styles. Also all kinds of machinery and farm implements. Vfe also visited the poultry buildings where we saw many kinds of fO'Nels, that we never saw before. Also all species of dogs. This place is crowded with people. |
