Voluntary Services, Inc., 125 East 65th Street, New York, Founded 1940. Its purpose is to make available to aU women of America the opportunity to work actively on a voluntary basis for their coun try through constructive service to their community, and to instruct and guide these volunteers toward the achievement of this end. Aseociation. ot the Jumior Leagues of Amerioa, Inc., The Waldorf-Astoria, New York, N.Y., 10022. Founded. 1901. Nonprofit, advisory to 206 Junior Leagues in the United States, Canada, and MexicO', with total membership of 87,000 community volunteers. Junior League purpose is to foster interest among its members in the social, eeonomic, educational, cultural, and civic conditions vf the community, and tv make their volunteer service efficient. B'nai B'rith Women, 1640 Rhode Island Avenue NW., Washington, D.O., 20036. Founded. 1895. It is a Jewish women's service organization engaging in edu cation, civic, and philanthropic programs. It provides both womanpower and financial support for projects vital tv the welfare of the individual, community, and country. The largest part of its funds and programing is devoted. to youth building activities and advancement of equal opportunity and rights for all. The organization established. and maintains a home for emotionally disturbed children in Israel. In the United States it contributes to the support of a number of national medical institutions and a residential treatment center for children. Membership: 135,000 in the United States and Canada. Oamp Fire Girls, Ino., 65 Wvrth Street, New York, N.Y., 10013. Founded 1910. Its purpose is tv perpetuate the spiritual ideals of the home and to stimulate and aid in the formation of habits making for health and character. It seeks to serve the leisure-time needs of all girls between the ages' of 7 and 18 and emphasizes the individual development of each girl. Its program supplements the training of the home, church or synagogue, and school through enjoyable and character-building activities. Membership: 600,000.
