In 1883, Bishop Daniel S. Tuttle and Rev. William H. Stay came to Logan to begin a ministry in this isolated valley. That very year they established St. John's school because to the bishop schools were, "the backbone of Episcopalian missions." The schools were of an exceptional quality in comparison to the Mormon schools and St. John's attracted Mormons as well as non-Mormons into the school. The property for their chapel was purchased in 1876 and the church remained in this place until 1907 when the present Chapel was constructed and is still in use. |
