Cummings grants to Goodwin Brothers. The record shows this transaction as "only conveys 1st story of building." Later in 1884, Cummings takes out a mechanics lien on "that part of said lot occupied by Hopkins Hotel." The building has a long and involved history of changing owners; however, in the early 1900's a man named Paul M. Paulsen, a dentist, bought the site. It has been occupied for many years now by several small ibusinesses. Horace Cummings, one of the original owners, studied at Deseret University and taught in Salt Lake City. Later he taught at the Brigham Young College in Logan. |
