Many homes in the district feature this style, though this is probably the most prominent. Its size and prominence are understood when the original owner is known. Benjamin Franklin Riter was a local druggist who owned a chain of pharmacies around northern Utah and southeastern Idaho. He was one of Logans most prominent citizens. Mr. Riter was the first Vice President of the Utah Pharmaceutical Association and the first President of the State Board of Pharmacy. He was a member of Logan City Council and also the first branch manager of the Logan Telephone exchange. In addition to his many positions and appointments he was an authority on history of the west and compiled a substantial historical library. |
