In 1877, at the request of some of the prominent members of the town, Oliver Ormsby came to Logan as the first college-trained medical doctor of the community. He established the Pioneer Drug Store on Main Street and was the first to practice major surgery in the valley. He left the valley to go on a mission for the Mormon church but came back and reestablished his practice. He built this home in 1890. Since this home is that of the first doctor of the community, it represents the development of the Small, rural, nineteenth century community into a modern era. |
