The second story floor joists, visible from the ground floor, are a full 2" x 12" and are cross-bridged about every 12-18". The floor is made of 4 x 6 planks. Such solid construction was necessary, however, since this building had its beginnings as Sydney Steven's Implement Company. The large entrances necessary for such a business are still evident, and the counter-balanced elevator used to lift tractors and wagons is still in use. |
