The history of the newspaper business in Cache Valley is typical o/f U.S. history in the early 20th century. From 1890 to 1931 two newspapers competed in the valley with expected results of low profits and cut throat competition. In 1931, however, the newspapers had been joined into one under the ownership of Scripps League of Newspapers, a conglomerate owning several newspapers in the West. We are unable to find the original owner of this structure. |
