Show the religious hierarchy are less likely to strictly follow religious teachings, mores, and norms. It must be explicitly stated that this is model analysis is not mutually exclusive to other models. Although only a pilot, this study can provide a foundation for continuing research in this area, opening the door to new perspectives on IPV research—a strength in itself. Perhaps a qualitative study could me made of the degree of correlation between factors of connectedness to a local church, levels of activity in the church, and how this relates to the occurrence of IPV. Future work based on the insights of this study could offer a better understanding how religious views may have implications for gender equity and women’s rights as protective factors against IPV victimization.
