Sir: The Department is in receipt of your letter of 29th ultimo, in which you request permission to take water from the Colorado River, on the California side, at Han-Ion's Crossing, about nine miles south of Yuma, Arizona, for irrigation purposes, at locality mentioned. Replying there to I beg to invite attention to the accompanying copy of report of the Chief of Engineers, U. S. Army, dated July 7th, instant, in whose views the Department concurs.
