Show -2- Company,, a corporation duly organized and existing under and by virtue of the laws of New Jersey, one of the United States of America. Said land scrip is evidence by certificates number one hundred and nine (109) and one hundred and ten (110), dated June 25th, A.D. 1898, signed by A. H. Heber, President, L. H. Pounds, Treasurer, and coutersigned by Chas. E. Hoffman, Secretary, with the corporate seal attached, both certificates being in amount for Forty Thousand Dollars ($40,000.00) each, par value; Eighty Thousand Dollars ($80,000.00) in all; And the said "Company," party of the first part, hereby agrees, binds and obligates itself to receive said land scrip in payment of any of the lands and water of said "Company" in the Republic of Mexico, on the same terms, conditions and proportions of scrip and cash on which, according to the terms of said land scrip, the same would be received in payment for land and water belonging to said California Development Company by it. To that end, in the payment of lands belonging to said undersigned "Company" and purchased from it, said land scrip shall be deemed to be the land scrip of said undersigned "Company." 2. It is Further Stipulated and Agreed that this "Company" shall, before delivery thereof to said Andrade, endorse said certificates of land scrip as follows: "For value received, the undersigned, Sociedad de Irrigation y Terrenos de la Baja California (Sociedad Anonyma), hereby guarantees to the holder of this certificate the faithful performance of the contract as expressed herein; and hereby agrees, contracts and binds itself to receive said land scrip in payment for lands and |
