Newlin, whose name is subscribed to the attached certificate, was, at the date of signing it, Clerk of the County and ex-officio Clerk of the Superior Court of the County of Los Angeles, State of California; and that Ed Carson, whose name is subscribed to said certificate, was, at that date, Deputy Clerk of said County and Court, and his official acts as such deputy Clerk merit entire faith and credit. And I also certify that I know well the signature of the said Ed Carson and also the seal of said Court and that the signature and seal upon said certificate are genuine.-Given under my hand and official seal in San Francisco, this 24th day of June, 1898.-A.
