Tomada esta minuta, luego ib<J.n a dar relacion al sciior de lo qua habia pasado, y tambien Ia "daban de los que habi an - muerto, que cran personas de calidad en sus casas, para que les hiciesen las ecsequias, y tambien daban relacion de los que habian hecho alguna cosa 313 notable en el eombate, para que fucscn remuncrados con honra y con dones, en especial si eran de noble linage. En acabando Ia guerra, luego se bacia inquisicion en todo el campo, de los que habian traspasado los mandamicntos de los sciiores de Cl, y luego los mataban aunque fucSen capitanes. Tambien los sefiores del campo averiguaban los plcitos que habia entre los soldados cnando qui era que dos porfiaban sobre cual de ellos habia- tornado algun cautivo: olanlo primcramentc, y despues daban sentencia por cl que mejor probaba su intencion; y si el caso no se podia probar de una parte ni de otra, tomabanlos el cautivo, y aplicabanle a alguno del barrio de aquellos, para que fuese sacrificado sin titulo de cautivador. Habicndo pacificado Ia provincia, lue. go ~os s~li orcs de~ campo repartian tributes a los que hab1an Sido conqUlstaclos, para que cada un aiio loi diesen al scflor que lcs habia conquistado, y el tribute era de lo que en ella se criaba y se hacia, y luego clegian gobernadores y oficiales que presidiosen en aquella provincia, no de los naturales de ella, sino de los que Ia habian conquist~do.
