At the beginning of the month of August great numbers of Night­jars were to be found at dusk hawking over the dry padi fields in the neighbourhood of Bima. Some belonged to the preceding species, but the great majority, I believe, to the present. In no other part of the world have I seen birds of this genus in such abundance. 13.
