Iris brown ; bill brown, black at tip ; feet brown. Length 22*0 centims. ; wing 15*6-16*2 centims. At the beginning of the month of August great numbers of Nightjars were to be found at dusk hawking over the dry padi fields in the neighbourhood of Bima. Some belonged to the preceding species, but the great majority, I believe, to the present. In no other part of the world have I seen birds of this genus in such abundance. 13.
