He resided at one time at Whitehill, New York, where some of the older children were born; also in the Adirondacks. They had seven chil dren: Surviah Bishop, born May 22, 1823; Mary Elizabeth, born Dec. 20,1824; Thankful Tefft, born Nov. 26, 1826, and died Mar. 11, 1830; Sarah Jane, born Sept. 29, 1828; died Jan. 5, 1829; Samuel Wells, born Nov. 19, 1831; James Henry, born July 22,1834; died Nov. 22,1834; Henry A., born April 21,1838. 10. William Tefft Tanner, born September 11,1799, in Washington County, New York. Married Sept. 20, 1819, Lydia Foster, born June 3, 1802, in Greenwich, New York, daughter of Amos Foster; she died Jan. 7, 1883. May 13,1842, William Tefft Tanner removed to Venango, Wrie County, Pa., and died Sept. 15, 1879. They had seven children: Pardon, born Dec. 19, 1820, died Aug. 4, 1824; Mary A., born Jan. 1, 1830; Jane Eliza, born Jim. 24, 1832; Amos Foster, born Oct. 9, 1835; James Wickham, born Apr. 3, 1822; Morgan B., born Aug. 4,1824; Elizabeth Amanda, born Sept. 9,1836. |
