Show 354 John Tanner and His Family DISTINGUISHED SERVICE CITATIONS For service to the John Tanner Family, the Association expresses its gratitude. outstanding E. Maurice Tanner Maurice Tanner, son of Shepherd Le Roy and Serena Hales Tanner, was born October 14, 1889, at Beaver, Utah. He died November 19, 1950. Maurice was the compiler and author of the two John Tanner genealogies published in 1923 and 1942. This work required years of patient and exacting work as well as a high de gree of skill. Mary Jane Mount Tanner Mary Jane Mount Tanner, daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth Mount, was born February 27, 1837, at Toledo, Ohio. She died January 8, 1890. Poet, jour nalist and scholar, she is the author of numerous articles and was the first secretary of the John Tanner Family. Pingree Tanner, Sr. Earl Pingree Tanner, Sr., son of Nathan Tanner, Jr., and Annie Pin gree, was born October 16, 1891, at Afton, Wyoming. He died October 8, 1957. For many years genealogist for the John Tanner Family, he worked faithfully to acquire family names and have their work done in the Latter-day Saints Temples. Nathan Tanner, Jr. Nathan Tanner, Jr., son of Nathan and Rachel Tanner, was born Octo ber 27, 1845, at Montrose, Iowa. He died June 16, 1919. He was for 33 years the secretary and historian of the John Tanner Family. Many his torical items which he collected are included in this volume. |
