A No sir; we had a raise of water at that time when we made the town trip. Q Do you recall the date you arrived at Lees Ferry? A No sir. Q Did you make other trips with that boat? A Yes sir, I made some short trips. Q How far up? A Well, we made one trip, I should imagine it would be about twelve or fifteen miles, and there was lots of short trips made, two or three miles. BY THE SPECIAL MASTER: Q On this trip to Dandy Crossing and back what were you doing, locating claims? A Locating claims was the purpose, and to see what we could do with regard to navigation. Q Did you actually locate claims? A Yes sir. That is, the surveyor, Mr. Jones, that was in the party, did the locating. BY MR. BLACKMAR: Q Was there also a larger boat brought in there? A Yes sir, later there was one. Q What size boat was that? |
