FURTHER EXAMINATION BY THE SPECIAL MASTER: Q What did you do on this trip, survey? A The trip was taken to investigate dam site possibilities in this stretch of the canyon. Q I know, but what did you do? A We took rough topography at each one of the sites which appeared to have some possibilities, possible merit. Q What sites were you looking at? A The first one I came to was the so- called bed rock dam site, just below the bed rock rapids. Q What was the next? A San Juan, I believe. There was another at Oak creek, another at Rock creek. Q Hadn't all this been survey and recognizance made for dam sites and reservoir sites by the government prior to your trip? A The personal of this party was largely composed of government engineers. Q United States government engineers? A Geological Survey. |
