Show 4400 Loper- C 2420 Q From what section of the river did it, come, up or down? A He came up the river to our camp. Q Did he have any supplies in that boat, at all? A None that I remember. Q Where did he go when he left your camp? A If I remember rightly, he went on up the river. Q When and where did you next see him on that trip? A At Mr. Fowler's camp, which was about half way between Last Chance creek and the Crossing of the Fathers. Q From what part of the river did he come down? A I must have seen him again, or else he came down while I was out with the cook; he went up the river. Next time I seen him, as I remember, he was down the river. There is a slip in there somewhere. I was out taking the cook out; it may be he came down while I was out, and that is the reason he was down the river. But I don't remember. Q The next time you saw him, you were at what place? A About half way between Last Chance creek and the Crossing of the Fathers. Mr. Fowler was camped there. Q Was he alone on that occasion? A Yes -- that is, of course, when he was at Fowler's camp he wasn't alone, but he came there along. He had an outboard motor Q I didn't ask you about that. Was it the same boat |
