Show 4365 Loper- D 2385 Q When was the next time you went on the Green river? A I think it was in September that same year, 1914. Q What was the purpose of that trip? A I secured employment with Mr. John Richardson of the reclamation service, who was doing some drilling at the junction of the two rivers at that time. MR. FARNSWORTH: What year is that? MR. BLACKMAR: 1914. THE WITNESS: That was 1914. BY MR. BLACKMAR: Q Did you make a trip from Greenriver down to the junc-tion by water? A Made a trip from Greenriver to Wimmer's ranch by freight wagon, and from Wimmer's ranch to the junction by boat. Q What kind of boat did you have? A Had a power boat, stern wheel, twenty- give feet long, probably, approximately,-- something like that; probably seven foot beam, stern wheel. Q What kind of power? A If I remember right, it was about a twenty horsepower marine engine, I think. Q And did the boat have a name? A Marguerite. MR. BLACKMAR: That is the same boat that was testified to by Mr. Sawyer. |
