A We had two Muller steel boats that was made for plea-sure; they was about a depth of twelve inches, and we tried to deck them over, build sulk heads in them and deck them over, but we couldn't make them water tight. That is where our trouble came. BY THE SPECIAL MASTER: Q What became of your other three steel boats? A Two of them, Russell and Monette started with two of them from Lees Ferry, and they lost one boat, and finally lost the other, and went down and found it lodged on a bar, and continued on their way. Q That was below Lees Ferry? A Yes sir. Q The third steel boat, did you keep all these years from 1907 to 1914? A No, it finally got swamped and went down the river. Q Then when you were living down there at Red canyon, and so on, did you make a boat for yourself? A Yes sir, flat bottom boat. BY MR. BLACKMAR: Q How much draft did these Muller boats have?
