Show 4527 Barnes- C 2547 Q Did you, while you were there, go up to the coal property? A No sir. Q While you were there had there been any considerable tonnage of coal hauled down to the river at Warm creek? A MR. FARNSWORTH: That is all. REDIRECT EXAMINATION BY MR. BLACKMAR: Q Mr. Barnes, I asked you on direct examination about the character of the water above and below Warm creek; and as I recall it, you said the better water was below Warm creek. Will you please tell me just what you mean by the better water? A I mean it was better navigating, easier to navigate. Q For what reason was it better? A Because the river was wider, and there didn't seem to be so much swift water, didn't seen to drop so fast, the river. Q What about the depth? A Well, the depth was deeper than it was further up. MR. BLACKMAR: That is all. |
