Show 4352 Loper- D 2372 Q This steam boat you refer to, what was the name of that boat? A C. H. Spencer. Q Have you ever seen that boat since? A No sir -- yes, I beg pardon, I did; I seen it, the nose of it, sticking up out of the sand at Lees Ferry in 1921. Q That boat trip you made down there with Seaboldt, did you have any motor equipment on the boat? A No sir. Q How soon after that did you return to your ranch? A About the 1st of February we left there; the reason we put in all that time at Lees Ferry, the river was gorged with ice. BY THE SPECIAL MASTER: Q What time did you make the trip down? A In December. Q December, 1911? A Yes sir; we was there at Christmas, just a few days before Christmas we got there. BY MR. BLACKMAR: Q These same two men came back with you? A Yes sir. Q Have any power on your boat? A No sir. Q How did you get it up? A Same old way, drug it up with a rope |
