A That was at a later trip. Q Which trip was it you saw those three men at Slick Horn canyon? A All Rogers and Bill Clark was old acquaintances; naturally I knew them; this other fellow, I think his name was Clark, too, I wouldn't say for sure; anyway, it was this other follow, and George Edmundson, and I, that made the trip down in 1894 to the Indian Farms, to Copper canyon. Q It was during the period between August, 1894, and the 1st of May, 1895, that you saw these three men there at Slick Horn canyon? A Yes sir. Q They were placer miners, were they? A Yes sir. Q You had know them over in Colorado? A I knew two of them over in Colorado. Q Do you know how they came into the San Juan? A They had burros. Q Came down from Colorado in boats? A Burros. Q They had just one boat? A I don't believe they had a boat. |
