Show 4341 Loper- D 2361 BY THE SPECIAL MASTER: Q They had it on the north side of Trachyte creek? A They had a field on both sides of Trachyte. Q Some cultivated land there? A Yes, irrigated; they took their water out of Trachyte to irrigate those fields. Q To what extent were the fields? A They probably had, altogether, twenty acres under cultivation; there was about two hundred or maybe two hundred and fifty acres in the whole bar they didn't have water for. Q Were the fields on the bar or on the side of the river? A On the side of the river, that is, the bar. Q Any cottonwood trees or other trees? A No sir, nothing but willows along the river. Q Is the wall of the canyon broken there so it is lower than other portions? A The walls of the canyon on the right hand side was pushed back away from the river itself at that particular place, but the wall on the left hand bank was approximately quite close; just a talus slope down to the river.
