Show 4333 Loper- D 2353 Q From that point down to Hite did you have any difficulty? A We would get back in the old conditions again. Q What is that? A At the mouth of North wash there, we have a bar cross-ing, and naturally, when the bar crosses, the channel crosses. The channel across the gravel reef of this bar crossing is al-ways very narrow; there is just one little channel through there, and there is one place in particular in Glen canyon where that channel has been there ever since, I think, and is still there; we made a trip through it this month, the same place. Q How long did you remain at Hite? A I remained at Hite and Glen canyon until 1915. I went back again in 1916, came out 1916. BY THE SPECIAL MASTER: Q You said you went in 1907. Did you stay there then until 1915? A Yes sir. I made the trip out in 1914, but came back; I had my place there all the time. Q You were there for about eight years? A Yes sir. BY MR. BLACKMAR: Q Did you and Mr. Monette at that time, and Mr. Russell, continue on down to Lees Ferry? |
