Q How did you get them into the country? A Hauled them in by team. Q From what point? A From Colorado points, and then directly from Bluff; most everything was hauled in there, and then probably reshipped from there, and made lighter loads from there on down. Q Did you do this freighting with your own teams, or did you hire it out to somebody else? A Usually hired the teams that were doing the work, freighting. Q Did they charge you by the trip, or by the pound? A By the pound. Q How much a pound did you pay from Bluff, Utah, to Mexican Hat, where you were drilling? A About three cents, three to four cents. Q A pound? A A pound; that depended upon the urgency of the case; very often they would get it in there when it was contracted from the railroad from Bluff down at about two cents a pound, |
